π³ BIN / IIN Checker
Find card country, issuer, and scheme
Make sure that the BIN follows the proper BIN format. The length is 6 characters and contains only numbers with no spaces.
About BIN Checker Tool
The BIN Checker tool helps users find detailed information about a card using just the first 6β8 digits, known as the Bank Identification Number (BIN). It reveals the issuing bank, country, network (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), and card type β safely and instantly.
Our lookup system uses reliable global BIN databases and the Binlist API for accuracy. This makes it useful for merchants, developers, and individuals to verify cards, detect fraudulent transactions, and validate payments securely β without collecting any sensitive data.
This service is completely free and educational. Whether youβre verifying a customerβs card or simply curious about your cardβs origin, our BIN Checker provides clarity and peace of mind.
How to use the BIN lookup responsibly
Find the first six to eight digits printed at the beginning of a payment card number. Enter only those digits in the checker. Never submit the full card number, expiry date, CVV or cardholder name. The tool returns available information about the card network, issuing country, card category and issuer.
What the results mean
Scheme is the payment network, such as Visa or Mastercard. Issuer is the institution associated with the prefix in the reference data. Country usually refers to the card's issuing country, not the cardholder's current location. Type may indicate credit or debit, but database coverage varies.
Six-digit and eight-digit BINs
Historically many card ranges were identified using six-digit BINs. The industry has also adopted eight-digit issuer identification numbers. This checker accepts six to eight digits, but its current lookup database matches on the first six digits. Therefore, results may be less specific for eight-digit ranges.
Important limitations
BIN data can be outdated, incomplete or reassigned. A BIN lookup does not confirm that a card is active, that funds are available, that a transaction is authorized, or that a person owns the card. Do not treat it as fraud detection or proof of identity. For payment decisions, rely on your payment processor and appropriate verification controls.
Common questions
Can I identify the cardholder?
No. An issuer prefix does not reveal a cardholder's identity or account balance.
Can I use this tool to approve a payment?
No. This is a reference tool, not an authorization service or a replacement for processor-side validation.
Why might the bank name be missing?
Not all issuer ranges are present in the available reference data. An unknown result is not evidence that a card is invalid.

What is a BIN?
A Bank Identification Number (BIN), also known as an Issuer Identification Number (IIN), is the first 6β8 digits of a debit or credit card number.
The BIN identifies key details such as the issuing bank, card network (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), card type (credit or debit), and the country of issuance.
BINs are used by payment networks to route transactions correctly and help merchants verify and process card payments securely.
This tool uses the BIN portion only and does not access or require any personal or sensitive cardholder information.
